Measuring a desk before you buy for it
Desk organisation fails the same way every time: a tray that does not fit the depth.
- Desk depth
- Measure front to back, then subtract the space your keyboard and forearms need. What is left is what a tray can occupy.
- Stacking
- Stackable trays are stated as such. Two non-stacking trays on top of each other slide, and that is not a fault.
- Cable routing
- A mat or tray does not solve cables on its own. Where a product includes routing, the page says so.
- Material
- Metal mesh holds its shape and shows dust; moulded plastic wipes clean and scratches. Each page names the material.
